A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) provides similar services as a Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO) provider with the exception of a co-employment relationship.  PEOs take care of all HR services including benefits administration, payroll tax administration, and employment.  PEO, also known as “employer of record” or “employee leasing” in essence hires a company’s employees and “leases” them back to the company for work.  The drawback of PEO is that you surrender all control of your HR department to another company.  You will have no control of any HR policies or benefit solutions.
